Hypnosis - What is it? Lets get one thing straight right away! Hypnosis CANNOT control your mind. You cannot be made to do anything that you don't want to. So please put right out of your mind anything that you have seen on television or elsewhere with a stage hypnotist. The people involved are carefully chosen and although it may seem strange, they really want to be exhibitionists albeit subconsciously.

Someone who is in hypnosis is unlikely to feel that they are in a trance or anything else for that matter, because there is actually no such thing as a hypnotised state. A little bewildered? I'm not surprised, so let me say what it is. The hypnotised condition is one of very deep relaxation and yet at the same time, experiencing heightened concentration and heightened awareness.

During hypnosis the subconscious mind is open to suggestion and will be able to accept alternative ideas and thoughts which will be of benefit to the whole being. Once again I will point out that the subconscious will not accept anything harmful so hypnotherapy is a very safe and a very gentle therapy which at the same time is very effective.

The state of hypnosis is a very pleasant experience, is a totally natural phenomenon and is very relaxing. During the session you will probably find that your senses, such as hearing and memory will be greatly enhanced and you will find it quite easy to converse, when necessary with your therapist. Hypnosis is induced purely by the use of the therapists voice. Fantastic isn't it? A therapy that uses no drugs and is probably more effective for more problems than anything else.

There are TWO different treatments using Hypnosis:

SUGGESTION THERAPY
- which is used for simple problems such as smoking, nail-biting, driving test & examination nerves, slimming, relaxation, confidence boosting, etc. and which will require only one or two sessions.

ANALYTICAL THERAPY - is used to discover the CAUSES of psychological problems . Whereas suggestion therapy treats the symptoms, Hypnoanalysis seeks to discover the originating cause of the problem and in so doing the problem is released.(although, of course, one does sometimes mix the two therapies) Naturally this route takes a little bit longer but once achieved the results are permanent.

Safe - Gentle - Effective
